Maya lives in the world of imagining nature. Her music evokes existentialism and pragmatic harmonies. Her dreamy pop and rock-inspired pieces, weaved with her persona into the harmonically-charged tunes make her a rare gem in Malaysia, and now, Bristol. Maya first appeared in Minulý's 2013 debut EP Into The Light and its subsequent debut album Morning Lights. The illumination references romanticize the idea of joie de vivre in trying times. It was here that she embraced her love for rock, alternative waves, and jazz-centred themes.

 

She embarked on a solo adventure, bringing all the dreamy melodies into her own world with sprinkles of electronic vibes and orchestral pieces. Her solo debut, Mist & River exudes the 80s electone chords, dreamy rotoscopes, and heavy guitar solos. She has performed with several Malaysian acts such as Alternate Jane, Stella Nova Transnita, and opening for Zee Avi, Tingtongketz, and Shh...Diam!

On a bigger arena, she has played with American jazz band Johnny Rodgers and Japan's 徳田雄一郎 RALYZZDIG.

The isolative 2020, afforded her the opportunity to work with musicians across the world, including Universal Music sounds engineer. Her latest record, Golden Gate is a tribute to the Slovak nursery rhyme Zlata Brana, that once colored her life. The rich harmonies and chromatic lines make her style all more distinctly unique, characterized by a combo of Radiohead, Diana Krall, and CHVRCHES in the same hall.

In 2021, she returned to writing music while pursuing her scholarly endeavor in Bristol, UK.
